A proposed natural gas pipeline from WV to VA is running into opposition.

In this article A natural gas company is trying to build a new pipeline that would move natural gas from WV to VA. The people there that would be effected by this pipeline are holding rallies and started a petition to try and stop the pipeline from being built. They say they don't want this pipeline to be built because of the environmental impact it will have, it will cause people to lose jobs, and some communities will have to be moved in order for this pipeline to be built.

  1. You summarized the article well. I think it would help to show why the gasline is needed and why it would be a good thing to build.

  2. From what is written it sounds like a terrible idea, but there could be more pros in building the pipeline than the cons that are written in your summary. That'd be interesting to see the company's side as well.

Its interesting that the people believe that jobs will be lost. If anything youd think that it would create more jobs to work on the pipeline. However the getting uprooted and the land being dug up in order to place the pipe definitely is cause to be upset. Its a matter of do the ends justify the means situation.
